The last weekend in October all the libraries in my county had a book sale to get rid of their old books. We walked away with a box of fifteen- twenty books and the first book from that batch I read last week was entitled Emily Windsnap and the Castle in the Mist by Liz Kessler, a fantasy young adult novel.
Fittingly I began reading the book about the semi-mer in a hot bath on Wednesday. This 204 page book features Emily whose mother is human and father is a merman so she has a unique life living within the two worlds. During one special class assignment for her Beauty and Deportment class Emily finds something special which gets her into trouble with Neptune cursing her and she only has until the full moon to find the solution before things change for mermaids everywhere.
Apparently this is the third book in a series, but they are not so connected that reading them individually causes any trouble or confusion for the readers. This is a quick, easy read for anyone who enjoys mermaid stories.
